McKinney, Texas – Stroll through the colorful sidewalks of historic downtown McKinney as local and regional artists come out to play Saturday, April 12 for the annual Arts in Bloom festival.
McKinney Main Street, the McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) and the shops in downtown McKinney invite those near and far to experience art in all forms as it blossoms throughout the historic district with art, music, food, shopping and fun for the entire family.

- ArtWalk, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – More than 150 local and regional artists, including painters, sculptors, jewelry-makers, photographers and musicians will line the streets throughout the 12-block area of downtown to showcase their talents.
- The Farmers Market at Chestnut Square, 8 a.m. to noon – Shop for local and organic meat, dairy, honey and produce as well as sauces, canned goods, pasta, baked goods, wine and flowers.
- Crawfish Boil, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Enjoy a crawfish boil on Kentucky Street hosted by the Chamber’s Women’s Alliance of McKinney to raise money for scholarships and projects benefitting women. Kids’ activities will be available and a Zydeco Band will perform.
- Music in Motion Performance, 10:00 a.m. and throughout the day – Music in Motion is designed to unite visual artists and musicians. The featured band is Page 43, a performance art ensemble that plays original music and classic jazz in a continuous music format. Page 43 is led by saxophonist Jason Davis and its members vary between music students from the University of North Texas and professional musicians from the Dallas music scene.
- Art Club of McKinney presents the 50th Annual Collin Co. Adult and Student Art Show, April 11, 9 a.m. to noon; April 12, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; April 13, noon to 2 p.m. – Works from 100 artists will be featured throughout MPAC. The Art Club of McKinney, founded in 1914, was created to encourage the appreciation of visual art in the community. Nearly 100 years later, the club continues to support this goal with monthly meetings and annual shows for adult and student artists.
- Second Saturdays, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Enjoy an evening with live music, gallery exhibits and late hours at many stores.
