Bonham -- Years of planning and negotiating in order to secure a flagship hotel for Bonham will culminate with the official groundbreaking ceremony April 3 to welcome developer G.K. Reddy and Reddy Hotels to the local business community.

The public is invited to witness the groundbreaking 11:00 a.m. Thursday. The 66-room Holiday Inn Express will be located south of the junction of Hwy. 56 and Hwy 121, however entrance for parking for the groundbreaking ceremony will be from Old Ector Road.

R.K. Reddy will develop two new hotels slightly southeast of the junction of State Highway 121 and State Highway 56.

The Holiday Inn Express is the first phase of a multi-property lodging deal in partnership with the City of Bonham, G.K. Reddy, Reddy Hotels, Bonham Hospitality, LLC. The second phase of this agreement calls for the construction of a 50-room extended stay hotel, to be located slightly east of the Holiday Inn Express, within three years.

Some preliminary earthwork is being done in preparation for the official groundbreaking ceremony for Bonham Holiday Inn Express & Suites set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3.
