Full day of family activities scheduled for sixth annual EarthFest
ALLEN (March 19, 2014) -- The public is invited to join nonprofit organizations from across Allen and throughout North Texas on April 5 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. at the Connemara Meadow Preserve for a festival filled with outdoor activities for the entire family.
EarthFest 2014 - A Celebration of Nature, Health and Community - will offer adults and children a chance to learn more about the wonders of nature while enjoying the great outdoors.
Admission is free to the sixth annual event and TAPS will provide park-and-ride shuttle service from Ereckson Middle School and City Hall beginning at 9 a.m. Limited parking is available at the Meadow Preserve.

Prior to the start of festivities, Keep Allen Beautiful will sponsor a community clean-up of Rowlett Creek, beginning at Suncreek Park at 9 a.m.
Event organizers of EarthFest 2014 include Keep Allen Beautiful, Allen Garden Club, Boy Scouts of America, Ecoliteracy Project @ Olson Elementary and Connemara Conservancy.
Additional community participants include Allen Early Childhood PTA, Allen High School Environmental Awareness Team, Allen Parks Foundation, Alliance For A Healthier Allen, Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, Boon Environmental Club, Change The World, Cheatham Environmental Club, City of Allen Water Conservation Division, Collin County Beekeepers, Collin County Dutch Oven Society, Curtis Environmental Club, Ereckson Environmental Club, Girl Scouts, Greenling, Jordan Swimm/Cafe Blu, Ladybug Critters, National Art Honors Society, National Junior Honor Society, Norton Environmental Club, Texas AgriLife Stream Trailer and Texas Pure Products.
Musical performances will include Hang Drums, Ocarina Diva Chris Gale, John Wynn’s Guitar Studio and Keltic Dead.
