BONHAM, TX -- It's time to lace up your running shoes and join Women Rock for our 4th annual Susan Hicks memorial 5K, 10K  and fun run!

On April 5, at Bonham's Warrior Stadium, hundreds of runners, walkers and supporters will gear up for the race, and registration is already underway at www.active.com.

This year we've added a 10K course, and both 5K and 10K are USATF certified.  Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., the 10K kicks off at 8:30 a.m., and 5K starting time is 8:45 a.m.

Last year, 600 people raced to raise over $23,000 for Women Rock in their mission to provide breast cancer screenings and support services for women in need across Texoma.

"Susan Hicks was a servant to God, family, friends, and strangers. She was always there to help those in need, no questions asked. Her name lives on through Women Rock doing what she did best, serving others. Last year the event allowed us to give several thousand dollars on race day to a group of women in the midst of battling breast cancer, to help them in their fight. In addition, funds raised in 2013 allowed us to provide over 250 services to those who reached out to us for help. I can’t think of a better way to honor the memory of Susan," said Executive Director LuAnn Daniel.

The event also celebrates breast cancer survivors and honors the memory of those who have lost the battle. We will have a memory wall at the race this year and want to welcome everyone to bring pictures and memories of loved ones for the wall.
