When you go to the hospital as an inpatient or outpatient through the emergency room your statistics are included in an abstract the hospital submits to the Texas Medical Foundation (TMF). In turn, TMF then submits the information to CMS, also known as Medicare. The information is used to measure healthcare quality in both Texas and the United States. The Quality Measures results from the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2012 and the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2013 have been received and Red River Regional rated well above the national and state averages for Quality of care delivered to patients treated at the facility. CMS selected the recommended core set of Core Quality Measures based on analysis of several factors:
• Conditions that contribute to the morbidity and mortality of the most Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries
• Conditions that disproportionately drive healthcare costs and could improve with better quality measurement
• Measures that would enable CMS, States, and the provider community to measure quality of care in new dimensions, with a stronger focus on parsimonious measurement
• Measures that include patient and/or caregiver engagement
At Red River Regional Hospital we strive day in and day out to provide the highest level of healthcare services possible. The data shown on the table below released by the Texas Medical Foundation clearly indicates our commitment to our patients, their families and our community. If you have not been to Red River Regional lately, stop by and see what you have been missing!
