On Thursday, April 10, the production team from Dancing Moose Productions of Denton will bring a wonderful, entertaining seminar in professional ethics to Binkley Hall of First United Methodist Church, 401 N. Elm in Sherman.  Ethics:  A Musical Comedy is designed to cover all required topics in the field of professional ethics for psychologists, social workers, marriage and family counselors, counselors and rehabilitation counselors in a format that has elicited such comments as “most fun training event I’ve had ever,” “creative, thorough, thought-provoking, excellent,” and “laughter feels good!”  Three ethics CEs are available to Texas LPCs and SWs.

The event, which holds many surprises for participants, will begin at 8:45 a.m. with registration along with coffee and donuts.  The program begins at 9:30 and ends at 12:30 with a short break around 11.  The fee for this entire program, including CEUs is $15/person if registration is completed prior to March 31st; the fee is $20 after that date.  There is a box lunch available for an additional charge of $10 and must be preordered no later than April 8.   Additional information may be received or registration may be completed by contacting Home Hospice of Grayson County at (903) 868-9315 or sherry.little@homehospice.org.  Online registration is available at www.homehospice.org/ethics-a-musical-comedy.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Grayson County is a child friendly environment for children after they have suffered abuse and neglect.  Here they can feel safe telling their experiences while finding the support they need for healing to begin.  The CAC offers a coordinated, multi-disciplinary intervention system that involves Child Protective Services, Law Enforcement, the Grayson County Attorneys Office, Therapists and Medical Personnel working as a team to break the cycle of abuse in Grayson County.

Home Hospice of Grayson County provides high quality care of terminally ill patients and their family members as they seek to care for them through the provision of specialized medical care by a team of professionals and trained volunteers.  Home Hospice is this area’s only non profit hospice and brings over 32 years of experience in the field to each individual and family.  Home Hospice also provides an extensive system of grief support to patient families and all other residents of the area without charge.

These two agencies have joined to present a cost effective option for professionals in this area to acquire some of their required ethics continuing education locally.
