Ballot set for municipal election in Bonham May 10

Bonham -- Candidates have tossed their hat into the ring and the ballot for the May 10 election in Bonham has been finalized.

The election will determine Bonham City Council members for Ward Nos. 2, 3 and 4 and will be held in conjunction with the Charter Amendment Election, as well as the local option election regarding (1) the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only; and (2) the legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders only. There will be no Bonham ISD Board of Trustees election since both incumbents are running unopposed.

The filing period for a place on the ballot of the May 10, 2014 Bonham City Council election ended 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 28. 

These are the candidates who have filed in the order he or she will appear on the ballot: 

Ward No. 2
Chantal Carey
Teresa Stapp

Ward No. 3
H. Compton – Incumbent

Ward No. 4
Mike Connors
Jerry Gay, CPA

Early voting dates are set April 28 through May 6 during regular business hours at Fannin County Courthouse, with the exception of two days when hours will be extended until 8:00 p.m.

Application for voting early by mail may be received in the office of City of Bonham Secretary Janell Jamieson March 11 through May 1.
