Thursday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m., the Creative Arts Center welcomes Paris author and historian Skipper Steely. The second in the center's Lecture Series, Steely has a wealth of experience in the publishing business. Search on Amazon.com for Steely's work and you'll find over a dozen titles he has either written himself or co-authored with others.

This lecture will focus on his book Pearl Harbor Countdown: Admiral James O. Richardson. Richardson was also a native of Paris and, likely, for that reason was of interest to Steely. This proximity enabled the author to access a great deal of biographical and historical information about Richardson and his career in the U. S. Navy. Richardson was strongly opposed to the permanent docking of ships in Pearl Harbor, believing that Japan might be prompted to launch an attack. When he expressed his concerns, President Roosevelt relieved him of his command.

The lecture is free to CAC members - others are encouraged to make a small donation. For more information, call the Creative Arts Center at 903-640-2196.
