'Investigating Incidents of Animal Cruelty' topic at seminar in Bonham

A training seminar on Investigating Incidents of Animal Cruelty was held at Bonham City Hall on January 27th and 29th with 52 people attending.  The training was sponsored by the Bonham Police Dept. and the SPCA of Dallas with the instruction taught by Special Investigator Pat Burnett of the North Texas SPCA. 

Those in attendance included police officers, judges, and animal control officers from 23 different agencies from the North Texas area including Frisco, Wise County, Richland Hills, Carrolton, Ft. Worth, Dallas Animal Services, Plano, Allen , Forest Hill, Corinth, Murphy, Grayson County, Denton, Denton County, River Oaks, Lake Dallas, Snyder, Lewisville, Savoy, Farmers Branch, Leonard, All American Dogs, and officers of the Bonham Police Department.

Those attending were provided with printed information on recognizing not only cruelty, but abuse and neglect in addition to being updated on any and all changes in laws concerning all types of animals. 

Bonham Police Chief Mike Bankston said, “The instruction was pertinent, beneficial, and thorough.  We feel fortunate to have had a part in making this training opportunity available to those dealing with these type incidents.”
