Methodist Mansfield Medical Center names Nora Frasier Chief Nursing Officer

Nora Frasier, MBA, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, recently joined Methodist Mansfield Medical Center as vice president and chief nursing officer, (CNO). As CNO, Ms. Frasier will oversee patient care delivery, nursing fiscal management, regulatory compliance of nursing services and other ancillary patient care departments for Methodist Mansfield. A 20-year veteran of the health care industry, Frasier currently serves as a magnet program appraiser team leader for the American Nurses Association, where she reviews and conducts on-site surveys to assess organizations’ compliance with magnet program standards and readiness.

Frasier previously served three years as vice president patient care services and chief nursing officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital – WNJ in Sherman, Texas. Reporting to the CEO, she was accountable for nursing and ancillary service departments representing more than 400 employees at the hospital. She was responsible for contributing to improvements in patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, as well as CORE measures to name a few.

Prior to that, Frasier served as vice president and CNO for JPS Health Network in Fort Worth. While there she was responsible for nursing operations and practice in the public health care system for a 567-bed tertiary care teaching hospital.  In 2007, she served for nearly three years as CNO for Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio. While there she was instrumental in reducing nurse turnover from 27 percent to 17 percent in one year, reducing pressure ulcer incidences, improving core measures in AMI, CHF and pneumonia, and creating and implementing innovative staffing solutions while maintaining high productivity and improving employee engagement.

Prior to moving to San Antonio, Frasier served for 11 years in several leadership positions with CHRISTUS Spohn Health System and began the health system’s journey to seek magnet recognition.

She has more than 20 years of experience leading health care organizations in both operational and clinical services roles, and providing direction and strategy for nursing and patient care.

Frasier is currently a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Texas Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Texas Organization of Nurse Executives Board Member at-large, Texoma Area Chapter American Red Cross Board Member and Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing Professional Advisory Council.
