Bells, Texas -- Funeral services for Betty Jean Duree, 72, of Bells are set for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells.  Officiating will be Reverend Jim Poole.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells following the chapel service.  Friends are invited to visit with the Duree family from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11 at the funeral home.  Those serving as pallbearers are Warren Duree, Craig Bennett, Korey Durham, Kyler Durham, Michael Duree, Thomas Duree and James Duree.

 

Betty was born to Joseph and Estie (Clark) Francis on January 4, 1941 in Latimer County, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Denison, Texas.  She married Frank Edmond Duree in 1966 in Sherman, Texas. She was a homemaker and attended schools in Latimer County, Oklahoma and Hale Center, Texas; she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bells.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.

 

Betty Jean Duree is survived by her three sons; Ronnie Duree and Lea-Ann of Durant, Mark Bennett of Wichita Falls, Warren Duree and Lindsay of Sherman; three daughters, Mary Carter and David McCraw of Ravenna, Tincey Cook of Ada, and Sandra Bennett of Bells; brother, Marvin Francis of McAlester; 13 grandchildren, Korey Durham and Mercedes, Kyler Durham, Craig Bennett, Jessica & Josh Torres, Warren & Lindsay Duree, Stella Washock, Samuel McCreary, Melissa Duree, Michael Duree, Thomas Duree, James Duree, Eric Arles, and Joseph Cook; and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

She loved her family, friends, and her pets dearly. She became a second mother to many who became apart of her life. Being very quick witted, you couldn't help but laugh when she shared her jokes and stories. She will be missed by all who knew her.
