Most of the building structures will be demolished at 6104 Texoma Pkwy in Sherman, making way for a 30,000+ sq. ft., state-of-the-art transportation hub, to serve north Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.
TAPS Chief Operating Officer, Tim Patton, said the agency was “bursting at the seams” in the old location. “TAPS has doubled in size over the last two years,” said Patton. “We now serve 7 counties including Collin, and the administrative support needed to keep things moving is extraordinary.”
The location at 3400 Texoma Pkwy was a former building supply, then a church, before TAPS moved in under a two year lease.
Patton said one of the most pressing issues for the transportation agency has been upgrading technology to keep pace with ridership growth. “Just a year ago, we were operating with 30 incoming telephone lines. With the move to this new location we have access to 127 lines.”
The end result of added technology is the ability to provide faster service, to more passengers.
The TAPS Airport Hop Shuttle service will now pick up and return passengers at 3400 Texoma Pkwy for their trips from the Grayson County area to DFW and Love Field.
