Bonham -- Vintage cars and trucks comprising the 45th Annual Bugtussle Trek will be traveling from McKinney to Paris on their late-summer tour Saturday, August 24, with stops in Farmersville, Bonham and Honey Grove. Owners of classic automobiles from all across North Texas look forward to this event every year.

Last year this colorful procession was led by wagonmaster Charlie Gambulos in his 1963 Cadillac Coup de Ville and the classic automobiles rolled into the parking lot at Creative Arts Center in Bonham at 10:00 a.m.  At age 35, it was Gambulos's 35th Bugtussle Trek.  While obviously he couldn't recall his first trek, Gambulos was certain it would have been in either a 1940 Cadillac or a 1955 Cadillac.

Bonham Mayor Roy Floyd and Bonham City Manager Bill Shipp were on hand to personally greet the 115 travelers while the Creative Arts Center Crew provided refreshments.

The stop in Bonham allowed the trekkers an opportunity to stretch their legs, tour the Creative Arts Center and learn about the Sam Rayburn House Museum, the Sam Rayburn Library and the Fannin County Museum of History.
