Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Janis Carver Cook, 85, former resident of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the chapel at First Baptist Church in Bonham, TX; with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Bill Beasley will officiate the service; interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Mrs. Cook passed away on May 8, 2013 in Clearwater, FL.

Janis Cook was born on September 28, 1927 in Bonham, TX to the late Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Carver, Sr. of Bonham, TX. She graduated from Bonham High School in 1945 and from Texas Tech University in 1953 where she acquired her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  She lived in Midland, TX for over 44 years where she worked as an Office Manager in a geophysical firm for over 10 years; she was a business partner in Interior Design for 10 years and a Realtor for approximately 12 years. In 2003, she moved to Seminole, FL where she purchased a home in the Tamarac by the Gulf subdivision where she served at the Homeowner’s Association Treasurer for 3 years before going to the retirement home in Clearwater, FL.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dr. David and Vicki Greenfield of Seminole, FL; 2 grandsons, Drew Greenfield and wife Lindsey; and Eli Greenfield of Tampa, FL; a brother Dan Carver and wife Bobbie of Bonham, TX; a sister Betty Carver Recer and husband Ervin of Mandeville, LA; along with many nieces and nephews.

Janis was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she will be dearly missed.
