The Dodd City Hornets ran their district record to 11 and 2 with a 10-3 win over Celeste on Monday.
It was Senior Night at Hornet Field and the home crowd was their feet in the third inning with Kyle Turner's inside-the-park home run, which broke the scoreless tie. It was Turner's third straight district game with a home run. The Hornets scored 3 in the third and 7 in the 4th inning.
The leading hitter for the game was senior Clayton Williams, who was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI. Senior Walker Phillips went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI, Hunter Vaught was 3 for 3 with two doubles, and Turner finished 1 for 2 with two walks.
Dalton Underwood had another fine game on the mound. He pitched a complete-game 4- hitter. He struck out 4 and allowed no earned runs, as 3 errors hurt the Hornet cause.
