Civil War exhibit on display at Bonham Public Library

Bonham -- It was on April 9, 1865 -- 148 years ago -- that Robert E. Lee saddled his beloved horse, Traveller, for the ride to Appomattox, Virginia to surrender the Army of Northern Virginia to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, ending the deadliest war in the history of the United States.

April is Civil War Month throughout Texas and, thanks to the historic collection of Mart Means, Bonham Public Library has assembled an impressive Civil War exhibit.

The exhibit will be on display at Bonham Public Library until the end of April.
