Bonham -- Bonham Civic Center was a buzz of activity Saturday as anxious gardeners took advantage of great prices on plants and interested visitors picked up tips on health and wellness. Homeowners studied displays for outdoor fountains, energy-saving windows and flooring.

Sweetwater Farm Greenhouse from Denison (www.sweetwaterfarmplants.com) and Daniels Nursery from White Shed (903-583-4741) were two of the largest plant vendors at this year's event and both had a wide array of flowers, herbs and vegetables for sale at very reasonable prices.

For gardeners who don't want to bother weeding, Billie Sanders of Sherman (www.billiemtakesjuiceplus.com) was exhibiting a new growing sensation -- an aeroponic Tower Garden. While hydroponics uses water as a growing medium, in aeroponics, the plants' roots are showered with water and nutrients in timely cycles.

The Garden, Lawn & Home Expo is also popular with area organizations. Fannin County Master Naturalists, Van Alstyne Voices Toastmasters, Fannin County AgriLife Extension, Fannin County Master Gardeners and Fannin County Junior Master Gardeners were among the organizations represented.

Vegetables were plentiful and very affordable!
