On March 11, 2013, the Bedford Animal Control Division impounded a skunk that was displaying unusual symptoms.  This was in the area of Wedglea Drive, in north Bedford.  The skunk was sent to the Texas Department of State Health Services laboratory in Austin, Texas, for testing.  The skunk was confirmed as positive for rabies.

The Bedford Animal Control Division is reminding residents that anyone who has contact with wild animals should use caution.
