His persona and musical career are in perfect keeping with what the Dallas Autorama has come to stand for and Vaughan’s collection of American classics is second to none.”
The Cars of Jimmie Vaughan exhibit will feature four cars from Vaughan’s childhood years, including a ‘51 Chevy, ‘54 Ford, ‘61 Cadillac and ‘63 Riviera. Vaughan’s cars are beautifully appointed, show-quality restomods with subtle modifications and not-so-subtle paint jobs, including his ’61 Cadillac. A product of Gary Howard’s Customs out of Georgetown, Texas, the vibrant green fins of the Coupe de Ville may be the first thing that catch your eye, but it’s the supercharged engine under the hood that will really snap your head back when catching a ride.
Vaughan’s ’63 Riviera is another wildly painted Gary Howard masterpiece. Clad in a Candy Lime Gold Pearl, this classic Buick pushes the limits with its 2” chop and stunning white interior. An older restoration, the Riviera won the 1992 Harry Bradley Design Achievement Award and still holds its form as one of the coolest rods on the streets today.
