Backdoor Comedy presents New Year’s Eve Extravaganza

DALLAS/FORT WORTH: Start the New Year with a laugh, a chortle and a smile, at Backdoor Comedy’s New Year’s Eve Extravaganza! The longest-running standup comedy club in Dallas, Backdoor Comedy's New Year's Eve Extravaganza features headliner Paul Varghese who recently opened for Dave Chappelle in Dallas and Austin, Aaron Aryanpur, winner of the 2012 Funniest Comic in Texas competition, Emmy award-winning filmmaker and 2012 Funniest Comic in Texas finalist Linda Stogner, and other Backdoor Comedy favorites.

Tickets are $28.00 per person for the 8:00 p.m. show and $45.00 for the 10:30 p.m. show which includes party favors, a champagne toast at midnight and dancing after the show. A favorite on the college circuit and in comedy clubs across the country, Paul Varghese recently opened for Dave Chappelle in Dallas and Austin and was a stand-out on the Comedy Central series Gabriel Iglesias Presents Standup Revolution. He has appeared on Showtime’s Russell Peters Presents, the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival and made his Comedy Central debut in 2007 with an appearance on Live at Gotham.

Paul has regular show at the House of Blues in Dallas and will release a new CD early next year.

Winner of the 2012 Funniest Comic in Texas awards presented by Improv Comedy Clubs, Aaron Aryanpur is one of the hottest comics in Texas and a rising star on the national stage.

Comedy Central has called Aaron Aryanpur "likable, well-written and fresh."  A popular comedian in comedy clubs, theaters and universities around the country, Aryanpur was invited to perform at the Great American Comedy Festival. He was named one of Maxim Magazine/Bud Light's Real Men of Comedy and has performed with the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour.

A 2011 and 2012 Funniest Comic in Texas finalist, Linda Stogner headlines the Four Funny Females Comedy Tour, now in its sixth season. A multiple Emmy Award winning filmmaker, Stogner was a finalist in the Dallas Observer’s 2011 MasterMind Awards. She appeared in the LOL Comedy Special on the American Life Network, performed on Joan River’s Funniest Women Comedy Special on CBS, and was a finalist in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival.

Other Backdoor favorites scheduled to perform include Jan Norton from the independent film Losing Faith and Johnny Elbow from NBC’s Last Comic Standing 4.
