Drew Foran has been named the November 2012 “Photographer of the Month” by the Friends of Hagerman.  Twelve of Foran’s photos will be displayed at the Friends of Hagerman website.

Drew’s interest in photography started in a Denison High School photography class and grew when he was stationed in England with the Unites States Air Force.  In December 2011, Drew renewed his interest in photography, purchasing a Canon Rebel T2i, with a 55-250 mm lens, and a Nikon D3100 with a 55-200 mm lens and a 35 mm Macro lens.  Then he learned about Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge and has spent a majority of his free time there taking pictures.  He especially enjoys taking wildlife pictures because the wildlife is always changing and very unpredictable.

“When I get home and download the pictures to my computer, I am amazed to find something extra in the picture that I didn’t see at the time,” Drew says.

At this year’s Grayson County Fair, Drew won 1st and 3rd places in the Color Section, Class Animal; and in Color Section, Class Flora, he won 1st.  Drew works in the photo lab at the Wal-Mart in Sherman, so he is always around photo equipment and able to help people with their camera needs.

“I always keep a memory card on me to show the difference in pictures taken with the Canon and Nikon,” Drew says.
