Sherman -- Area ghosts and goblins can enjoy trick-or-treating in a safe environment at Fright Fest, a free event provided by Sherman Police Department at Sherman Municipal Lawn, just east of Bearcat Stadium.

Local businesses and organizations will be setting up booths for children to visit and receive candy.  This is strictly a Halloween event for the enjoyment of the children, so no vendors will be allowed to sell items. However, there will be a prize awarded to the spookiest booth, so get creative!

There will also be live music from Willie Kickit.

In the past, this event has attracted 1,500 to 3,000 trick-or-treaters and their parents from all over the Grayson County area.

Fright Fest is scheduled for Wednesday night, October 31 on the Sherman Municipal Lawn from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  Set-up begins at noon. Booths must be set-up no later than 5:00 p.m.
