Sweet Jubilee: Cake and Sugar Arts Show II – Sunday, November 4 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Come join us in the Art and Culture District of Denison for a Cake and Sugar Art Show - This Denison Arts Council sponsored event will be at the Palazzo, 506 W. Chestnut, and will be accompanying the Dia De los Meurtos Fall Art Walk in Downtown. Sweet Jubilee will include cake decorating demonstrations, cake contests, and booths of sweet treats and inspirations for the culinary at heart.
This event will showcase some of the most talented Cake artists of Texoma, as well as some from the Dallas and North Texas region.
Cakes, pastries, candies, chocolate, and other sugary treats will be the medium of choice for this whimsical art show and juried contest. Various divisions, levels and age groups will be exhibited. Special guest judges will include the Earlene Moore winner of ICES Wilbur Brand & ICES Hall of Fame Award, and Nikita Collins Jackson has appeared on Food Network’s ‘Last Cake Standing’ and is the owner of Absolutely Edible Cake & Catering Co.
These sweet works of art will be displayed along with artists’ non-edible renditions of cakes and confections created out of recycled materials that will be up for grabs on silent auction.
Demonstrations will include a ‘Day of the Dead’ Sugar Skull cake at 1pm by Sylvia Wilson, winner of Food Network’s ‘Star Wars Challenge’. Filigree piping sculptures at 3pm by Dawn Parrot of the Houston Cake Club and various Food Network challenges.
For those with a sweet tooth there will be cupcakes and dessert vendors on hand, as well as cooking and baking supply booths.
Trophies & ribbons will be given out at the awards ceremony at 5pm, which will include a ‘People’s Choice’ award and a Regina Memorial Award.

Directions from Dallas: 1 hour north on 75. Exit Spur 503 (Exit #66), merges with Hwy 69. Take 69 North to downtown. Hang a left on Chestnut Street right after crossing the viaduct. Location is on the left at 506 W. Chestnut St.
