Local judges, police chiefs, wardens, prosecutors, lawmakers and other high-ranking officials in the justice field will be putting on their aprons and serving up dinner at the eighth annual “Justice Is Served.”  Proceeds will benefit the Fannin County Children’s Center.

The event will begin at 6:30 pm on Saturday, November 10 at the Multi-Purpose Complex, on Highway 56 just two miles west of Bonham, near FM 87.   The theme this year is “Denim and Diamonds,” so guests can dress up, wear their nice jeans or a combination of both.

Texas Firearms Training Academy will once again be sponsoring a BB gun shooting contest called the “James Bond Challenge.”  Guests can purchase five shots for five dollars to try to win prizes and bragging rights.

Another highlight of the evening will be the live and silent auction.  Morgan Hopson will be the auctioneer.  Alaska Airlines has donated two round-trip tickets to anywhere they fly, including destinations in Alaska and Hawaii.  The tickets are valued at up to $2,500 for the pair.  Many handcrafted and home baked goods will be in the auction.  Other items include gift baskets, gift certificates and other unique treasures.  A preview list of auction items is posted on the agency website (www.fanninccc.org) and is being updated frequently.

Proceeds will help sustain a wide variety of programs for kids at the Children’s Center.  The agency’s two primary programs are CASA and Children’s Advocacy Center.  CASA provides abused children a caring, concerned, trained volunteer to advocate for them while they are involved in the court system.  The Children’s Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-friendly location to go to when abuse is suspected.  In cases where abuse is substantiated, the center can provide counseling, information, referrals and other support services to aide the healing process.

Individual tickets are $35 in advance.  Reserved table sponsorships are also available for two, four or ten people.   For tickets or more information, call (903) 583-4339 or visit www.fanninccc.org.
