October 20, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Whitesboro Area Chamber of Commerce proudly presents the 47th Annual Peanut Festival in historic downtown Whitesboro on October 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This event features events and activities for the entire family plus it is FREE to the public.

Events and activities include:

· Crafts, Displays, Food and so much more. (approximately 200 booths)

· Food Booths – offers a variety of items to match almost anyone’s appetite and is located at Trollinger Park.

· Kid Alley – for kids and the young at heart. This event is sponsored by RV Max and is located on the north side of Trollinger Park.

· Parade - this year’s theme is “Peanuts…We Dig’em”. The parade starts at 10:00 am and is sponsored by Legend Bank.

· Entertainment Stages – various performances, music and songs throughout the day.

· 5K Goober Run – presented by Whitesboro Bearcat Band Fans. Begins at 7:50 a.m. from Main Stage and ends at Whitesboro Bearcat Stadium. Taps buses available to take runners back to downtown. Early bird signup by October 12. Questions: Contact bearcatbandfans@gmail.com

· Main Stage – an opportunity to know what is going on at the festival plus to see and hear a variety of events and performances. This stage includes everything from the National Anthem and Mayor’s special award presentation in the morning to announcements throughout the day and ticket drawings at 5:00 pm. (sponsored by AG-POWER, HOLIDAY CHEVY/FORD, LANDMARK BANK, & KXII 12 MEDIA)

· Drawings – Tickets for our 5:00 pm drawing are $25 each. A 55”LED TV is the 1st prize, the 2nd prize is a $1000 gift card, and the 3rd is a TG-33 Smoker Grill from Heffley’s Hearth & Home. To purchase a ticket or get additional information regarding the drawing, contact the Whitesboro Chamber of Commerce.

· Carnival – Triple T Amusement is open prior to the festival on October 18th & 19th from 6-10 pm, and all day of the Peanut Festival. This event is sponsored by Holiday Chevy/Ford and is a ride no one wants to miss.

· TAPS Free Park and Ride – this Free service is provided by TAPS from the High School and Middle school parking lots.

· For the safety of all concerned, NO Unauthorized gators and golf carts will be permitted on the Peanut Festival grounds.
