Public input meeting hosted by the McKinney Arts Commission

McKINNEY, TEXAS  –The City of McKinney is creating a Public Art Master Plan and is seeking community input to help shape this plan. The entire community is invited to participate in a workshop at which you will be asked to Imagine Art Here!

The workshop challenge is to establish a vision for public art in McKinney, and to imagine and prioritize the places where future public artworks in McKinney should be located.

McKinney Mayor Bryan Loughmiller visits with local artist Anne Royer as Ms. Royer's students give a plein air painting exhibition in historic downtown McKinney.

When: Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon

Where: McKinney Performing Arts Center (Ruschhaupt Room), 111 N. Tennessee

Everyone with an interest in how public art can contribute to McKinney's unique character is encouraged to attend. Space is limited, so please RSVP by emailing Mona Robinson at mrobison@mckinneytexas.org

“Public art can bring so much value to the cultural, aesthetic and economic vitality of the entire community, so it’s important that we have community input into the Public Arts Master Plan for McKinney. We are seeking expertise and creativity from throughout the community,” said Linda Spina, McKinney Arts Commission Chair.
