Chili Cooks and Tasters are wanted at The North Texas Firefighters Chili Cook-off and Grand Street Fall Festival on November 3, 2012, in Whitewright, Texas. Cook-off opens at 6:00 a.m., turn-in at 12:30 p.m.

At 12:35 the public can sample the chili’s for $5 and vote for their favorite. Chili is cooked on-site from scratch, outdoors, no electricity. 40-50 cooking canopies will line the streets, of which 10-12 will be volunteer firefighter teams. Over $1500 in award prizes and raffles! Awards are 1st-10th place, Showmanship and People’s Choice. It benefits volunteer fire departments in North Texas to help them be the best in the world! It’s hosted by the Whitewright Chamber of Commerce, sanctioned and refereed by CASI, the Chili Appreciation Society Intl. and endorsed by the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas.
