Today, the midway is silent and empty animal stalls and cages are reminders that another Fannin County Fair has come and gone.

But the sights and sounds of the 2012 Fannin County Fair, just like those that came before it, will last a lifetime for a handful of contestants.

Some came home with ribbons, some came home with bumps and bruises as lingering reminders of the youth rodeo Saturday, but almost everyone who attended the fair went home with special memories.

For Katarina McEachern, it was a Best of Show ribbon for her pensive portrait, Irish Rose, in the Photography Show.

For Barbara Wilson, it was a Best of Show Ribbon for her eye-catching yellow rose entry in the Garden and Horticulture Show.

And for new Fannin County Fair Queen Tiffany Sellers, it was the moment she felt the crown placed on her head by 2011 Fannin County Fair Queen Selah Burnett.

All in all, it was another exciting week of beauty queens and show rings, of spills and thrills at the Fannin County Fair.
