Bonham -- Blustery skies and a light rain did little to dampen the spirits of the crowd gathered Saturday, October 6 for the Fannin County Fair Parade, a prelude to a busy week of competition, exhibits and pageantry.

Almost as if on cue, cool weather greeted the parade. Fortunately, the rain held off until the parade was well underway.

A Bonham Police Department squad car led the way, followed by Boy Scouts, Bonham High School War Dancers, Bonham High School Band, military vehicles, an acting troupe, classic cars and dozens of beauty pageant contestants who will vie for crowns at the 2012 Fannin County Fair.

As with almost any parade in Texas, horses slowly made their way around the Bonham Square to make the Fannin County Fair Parade complete.

The Fannin County Fair begins Wednesday, October 10.
