Bonham -- The crowd began forming long before Bonham Public Library opened Saturday, October 6 as shoppers braved the blustery elements in order to be one of the first in line for the library's long-awaited Pumpkin Patch Bazaar. As soon as the doors opened at 9:00 a.m., library patrons hurried inside to select from more than 80 pumpkins adorned in holiday splendor, pick up baked goods, relishes, jellies and jams, look through hundreds of books on sale, or select arts and craft items certain to make memorable Christmas presents.

While the pumpkin decorations vary from year to year, Pumpkin Patch Bazaar is Bonham Public Library's most successful fundraiser of the year for one very good reason - the library's amazingly artistic board of directors who spend countless hours preparing for this event. As always, an admiring public found the pumpkins irresistible; by 9:30 a.m., five long rows of  colorfu pumpkins had been reduced to a mere two rows.

If you missed the event, there is still time to select a favorite pumpkin, purchase delicious baked goods or peruse the huge book sale. Many of these items will be on sale all week long at Bonham Public Library.

For more information, please call the library at 903-583-3128. Bonham Public Library is located at 305 East 5th Street, two blocks east of the Bonham Square.
