The eighth annual “Justice Is Served” dinner and auction will be on November 10 this year.  Most years, this event has been held in September.  Organizers at the Children’s Center shifted the date this year for several reasons.

“The later date has allowed us to spread out some of our workload and space out some of our requests for donations,” said Sandy Barber with the Children’s Center.  In the past, preparations and donation requests for the center’s annual school supply drive overlapped heavily with “Justice Is Served.”

Once again, the event will be held at the Multi-Purpose Complex just west of Bonham and include local judges, police chiefs and others serving up the dinner.  As always, the event will include a large silent auction as well as a live auction.  This year’s auctioneer will be Morgan Hopson.  Proceeds from the event will help sustain CASA, the Children’s Advocacy Center and other support services for children who have been abused or neglected.

Board members and staff of the Children’s Center are currently busy planning the event, securing sponsors and soliciting auction items.  By early October, individual tickets will go on sale for $35 each.

Alaska Airlines has already donated two round trip tickets to anywhere they fly, including Alaska and Hawaii.  The tickets are valued at $2,500 and will be auctioned off at “Justice Is Served” on Nov 10.
