DFW International Community Alliance announces the 6th annual Fiesta Latinoamericana!, a free celebration that is the Metroplex' only Cultural Festival of the Americas. It will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m. in the Dallas Arts District, along Flora Street from the Cathedral to the AT&T Center, 2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201. The Honorary Chair is Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Pauline Medranoa and Fiesta is created in partnership with the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the Guadalupe Cathedral. Confirmed sponsors include Fiesta Mart, BB&T Bank, H&R Block, State Farm Insurance, with numerous additional sponsors still to be announced. Participation forms are available at http://www.dfwinternational.org/FiestaLatinoamericana/

The event offers four stages of music and dance, plus interactive and hands-on activities for the entire family that revive vibrant artistic traditions, and performances by dozens of outstanding local artists representing Chile, Argentina, Spain, El Salvador, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, and other Latino cultures.  Built around the motif of a ‘traditional plaza’ the Fiesta features strolling musicians, indigenous dancers and drummers, clowns and balloon vendors, and a Latino Cuisine Pavilion.

Fiesta Latinoamericana! is a family-friendly event that includes Children’s Cultural Workshops, the LatinoQuest and Passport games for children, a Tortilleria, a Parade of Nations and International Marketplace and and closes with a Drum Circle with indigenous, Caribbean, Afro-Latino, and capoeira rhythms.

DFW International Community Alliance is the portal for global North Texas, a network of 1,600 of the regions ethnic and internationally-focused civic, community and educational organizations. Its mission is to build mutual understanding and respect by linking diverse international cultural communities.
