Pottsboro -- Frontier Day commemorates the Shawnee Trail Riders as they drove their cattle from Dallas through Grayson County where the Preston Trail crossed the Red River.   

Each year Friendship Park is filled with hundreds of people who come out to shop, eat and enjoy the entertainment.

Frontier Day will be held in Pottsboro’s Friendship Park located on FM 120 in Pottsboro. All vendors may set up on Friday,
September 28, 2012 from 3-6 p.m. or Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 6-8:30 a.m.

The Frontier Day Parade is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Herberta Street and FM 120. The parade will end at Elm Creek Drive.

The average attendance at this prominent fall festival is estimated to be in excess of 7,000 people. Extensive exhibits feature arts and crafts, along with a variety of food vendors.
