On Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Bonham Police Department, along with the help of Fannin Pharmacy, will be participating in the 5th National Drug Take-Back Day.
This is an opportunity for the general public to drop off unwanted or expired prescription medication, OTC medications, or medical supplies to Fannin Pharmacy, 2108 North Center Street in Bonham for safe and proper disposal.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled several of these days over the past two years. With the help of its state and local law enforcement and community partners, the DEA has removed over 774 tons (1.5 million pounds) of medication from circulation in our nation.
This day has been set aside to help our communities clean out their cabinets and contribute to the battle against prescription drug abuse, Over 4,000 different agencies in all fifty states are expected to participate in this event.
