Wildthing set to appear on Sunday

GREENVIILLE, TX- Rally ‘Round Greenville is set for this weekend September 14th-16th, but Sunday the 16th has a special surprise celebrity. This year Sunday’s line-up will feature the famous buffalo, Wildthing! Wildthing has been on twelve TV shows and has several more scheduled, and he is no stranger to Ripley’s Believe It or Not or 20/20. He’s even been on the cover of the National Enquirer and has a special scene in Summer of ’76; a feature film to be released in 2013. Wildthing is most known for being a 2,100-pound house pet.

Owners R.C. and Sherron Bridges treat Wildthing like they would their family dog, they take him for walks, go swimming with him and he has even been known to come into the house to watch TV! Don’t worry, Bridges says that Wildthing is house trained.

Wildthing has many talents including pulling a chariot, plowing a garden, pulling his owner on skis and he’s even trained to jump into the back of Bridges’ pick-up truck. On Sunday afternoon on the corner of Lee St. and Wesley St just behind the SPOT in downtown Greenville, visitors will be able to find Wildthing along with his owner and best friend, R.C. Bridges, and their pet wolf Jewels Spirit. Kids will get the chance to pet Wildthing and marvel at his massive size.

Wildthing was also the Best Man at RC and Sherron Bridges’ wedding.  For custom Native American style jewelry and a chance to see a famous buffalo, head on over the Rally ‘Round Greenville this Sunday September 16. For more information contact the Greenville Chamber at (903) 455-1510.
