For a lot of folks, festivals are all about the food. And at Rally 'Round Greenville Sept. 14-16, mouths are going to be watering for sure.
Among the offerings scheduled are Mediterranean pastries a la mode, catfish and shrimp baskets, stuffed giant baked potatoes, kettle korn, gourmet shaved ice, caramel apples, chocolate fondue, brisket sandwiches, turkey legs and sausage-on-a-stick.
Other vendors will serve pulled pork sandwiches, chili dogs, funnel cakes, twisted tators, fresh-squeezed lemonade, corn dogs, brisket nachos, beans, pickles, burgers and Frito pies.
For those so inclined, there will be wine tastings and a beer garden.
Music is another highlight of the event with more than a dozen bands scheduled. Most will play on the Bud Light stage at the west end of the festival zone on Lee Street. The concerts are free.
Kids Alley anchors the opposite end of the festival near the Courthouse Square with bounce houses, mini-train rides, a dunking booth, games, temporary tattoos, a caricature artist and a model train demonstration inside the Uptown Forum Shopping Mall. A stage at Kids Alley will host a full line-up of local talent.
