The Fannin County Amateur Radio Club and area radio clubs will host a reception for Dr. Robert Carrel Saturday,  September 15, at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center at 8th and Star in Bonham from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This reception is to recognize Dr. Carrel for his contribution to the field of radio communication with his co-invention of the Log Periodic antenna.   This invention played a major role in broadcast TV reception and continues to this day to make major contributions to amateur, commercial, and governmental communication services around the world.

Dr. Carrel has been a resident of Fannin County for many years and he and his wife, Kay, have given a helping hand to many Fannin County organizations.

Please stop by Saturday afternoon, listen to Dr. Carrel relate some of the research leading up to the design and application of the LPV antenna,  and shake Bob  Carrel’s hand.
