Music of all types will again take center stage at the Rally 'Round Greenville WOW Weekend Sept. 14 through 16. L-3 Communications, Mission Integration returns as title sponsor of the Chamber/CVB organized street festival. Stage sponsors Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies and Landon Winery turn up the volume and the fun for the three-day event.

Friday Night Kick-Off Concert/Street Dance with Emerald City Band in front of Landon Winery. This is the third year for Rally to feature the group described as Dallas' top-rated dance band. ‘Motion, movement, and energy are three words that best describe this 13 piece, 3 horn section super group that electrifies every audience with a combination of high energy dance songs from the past with the hits of today.’ Opening for Emerald City will be Bad Moon Rising.

Music continues Saturday and Sunday on the Bud Light Stage with performances by Chris Knight. ‘Knight has always let his music do the talking, and on record – as well as everywhere across America, from roadhouse taverns to major-city concert halls – his songs have had plenty to say.

The Tejas Brothers, ‘who use the stage like a weapon, attacking you heart and poking at your funny bone. Their sound is unique, yet familiar, it’s like something brand new on top of something we’ve all known and loved forever.’

The Blandelles, ‘When you think of oldies Rock & Roll, think of the Blandelles, with their fun and exciting entertainment that brings everyone out to the dance floor.’

Another whole stage of entertainment in Kids Alley will feature local musical and dance performances. Kids Alley is sponsored by Comfort Suites of Greenville, Keep Greenville Beautiful and Hunt Regional Healthcare. It will also feature free bounce houses and slides for the kids, a mini-train ride, face painting and other fun activities.

Rounding out the festival are the Barbecue and Chili Cook-off, an Art and Photography Show, food vendors of all types, sidewalk sales and extended hours by downtown merchants, arts and crafts, a display of antique cars and the Cotton Patch Classic Bicycle Race and Tour.
