The Melissa Lady Cardinals traveled to Lone Star for the Frisco ISD Tournament and started pool play strong.

Melissa stumbled in a two-game loss to Frisco Lone Star, 25-17 and 25-20, but the Lady Cards responded by sweeping Mesquite, 25-11 and 25-22. 

"Junior Courtney Cottrell was on fire tonight with nine kills and senior Olivia Bennett started us out strong," remarked Melissa head coach Whitney Nelson.  

The Lady Cardinals (10-6) will be back in action in the Frisco ISD Tournament tomorrow. Games will be at Lone Star High School.
