On Sunday, September 16, 2012, 4-6 pm, singer-songwriter, Buddy Mondlock, will be performing at Harmony House Concerts at Wildscape Acres (www.wildscapeacres.com)

I have been listening to Buddy's songs for 15 years and never tire of his unique style and poignant lyrics....Buddy's soothing tenor voice is like receiving a warm bath over your aching body; a healing massage to your tense muscles; and a soft summer rain that cools your frayed nerves. You hear his voice and you just RELAX!! Treat yourself to this musical experience and attend his live concert...then, decide for yourself!

More about Buddy below in his "bio"....

To make reservations, call 903/583-2661, leaving your contact information, number of seats desired, and whether you need directions to Harmony House. The suggested donation is $15 per person with all proceeds going to the artist. To prepay, please send a check made out to Buddy Mondlock, to Faye Wedell; P.O. Box 812; Bonham, TX 75418, to be received by Thursday, September 13th. Should you have to cancel a reservation, please do so by that date to receive a refund.

Reservations can also be paid at the Reservation Check-In on the day of the concert. However, if you do make a reservation, please respect the artist and the hosts by showing up. Call ahead, if unable to keep the reservation, or you will still be responsible for payment.

Buddy will play two sets of 45-minutes each and a 30-minute intermission so guests can enjoy treats provided. Faye and Scott will provide bottomless cups of good coffee (not weak); teas; and punches, along with other snacks. If you wish to make a $1 cash donation to defray their expenses, a basket will be provided on the breakfast room table...this is strictly optional! Our goal is to bring you the "best entertainers" out there in acoustic/Americana/folk genres (that's just a broad umbrella for a lot of musical styles) and to create a setting of warmth and ambiance in which you can "kick back" and enjoy them and the company of a musical community in NE Texas.

After the concert, there will be a Potluck "Build Your Own Taco Salad" Buffet. When making reservations, please indicate whether you do or do not intend to partake of this part of the day's event. For those with reservations who plan to stay for the Potluck, Faye will just assign you one ingredient/dish to bring to add to the Taco Salad you might create for yourself. You will receive this in an e-mail prior to the concert, which includes the Reservation List for this concert. If you wish to volunteer to bring something before receiving this Reservation List e-mail, please check with Faye to see what is needed.

For those who wish to stick around for a Song Circle after the Potluck, we welcome all voices, instruments, amateur or professional musicians, and/or listening ears. We have found that there is much talent to be shared in this community of music-lovers.

"Bio" for Buddy:
The moment you go to his website, you will begin to hear some of Buddy's songs. You can also go to his YouTube videos via his website. I just had to visit the section called Kickstart, which is his effort to fund the recording of his newest CD, to be called The Memory Wall.

This takes you on an informal journey with Buddy, as he tells you personally on video about how he started by opening for Steve Goodman on New Year's Eve; wound up at Kerrville Folk Festival and was taken under the wing of Guy Clark, who really "dug his music," and got to record his song, "The Kid" (who just happens a song about himself) with his lifelong heroes, Peter, Paul, & Mary, and many other interesting things about his career. Taking this little journey with Buddy on video will introduce you to him so that you will feel like he's already "your friend."

One of my favorites of Buddy's many songs is "I Count You My Friend" from his CD, The Edge of the World. The lyrics say it all...

"I count you my friend;
Nothing complicated about it.
I count you my friend.
Will this change?
I doubt it."

You, too, will count Buddy a friend after attending this Harmony House Concert, and he will think that same of you....you can read his sincerity and kindness in his eyes. Of course, I wanted to help back this latest CD of his by giving to his KickStart effort....he's my friend!!!
