This summer the Honey Grove library sponsored two separate summer camps.  The first camp was summer reading with the theme “Get a Clue.”  A whopping 65 students attended the camp, which included reading contests, crafts and games.

The second opportunity for kids to participate was Nature Camp in July. The week long camp included 77 students.  Thanks to volunteers from the Bois‘d Arc Master Naturalists, the kids were introduced to a multitude of animals, plants and insects.  The finale of the camp was the last day when Cathy, from Cathy’s Critters, brought an interesting mixture of exotic animals for kids to learn about, see and cuddle.

These camps would not have been so successful without our teachers and volunteers.  This includes teachers Karli Fowler, Amira Jabai, Ashley Odom, Taylor Whitaker, Megan Tindel, Morgan Tindel and Amy Wood.  Volunteers were Jacob Price, Albert Maldonado, Mackenzie Langston, Jacque Kyle, Connie Aplin, Joyce Hicks, Howard Latham, Raylene Hampton and Jessica Womack.
