Kids get in free at any of the five Hawaiian Falls waterparks with the purchase of a $25.99 Big Kahuna ticket and a “Kids Free” coupon, which can be downloaded at www.hfalls.com. Anyone 18 years of age and under is eligible for the free kids admission, regardless of height. Children two and under are always free with a parent or guardian. Tickets must be purchased at the front gate.
“Summer is winding down and we want to make sure every child from Austin to the Oklahoma border has the opportunity to come to Hawaiian Falls at least once,” said David Busch, Hawaiian Falls CEO. “Our company mission is to bring families closer together, and we’re making good on this commitment by providing free admission to children 18 years and under.”
Hawaiian Falls invested $7.5 million in upgrades and new attractions at its Roanoke, Garland, The Colony and Mansfield waterparks, plus opened a new $10 million waterpark in Waco this year.
Hawaiian Falls Garland added The Rush, a two-person dark ride that uses state-of-the-art special effects to create a thrilling, multi-sensory experience with sound and projections. Riders can choose the music that plays while they ride down the slide from a list of 100 popular tunes. Hawaiian Falls also expanded Splashwater Harbor with water basketball goals and a new floating obstacle course.
In Roanoke, Hawaiian Falls added a new six-story Waikiki Tower, featuring four slides, including two body slides and two tube slides. Last month, the park debuted the World’s first Beach Blasters ride, which launches two separate 2-person rafts simultaneously from a 60-foot platform. The rafts race down enclosed tubes in the dark, then are propelled into a massive open-air bowl. Each raft exits the bowl through its own porthole to splash down into finish lanes. The $3.1 million investment marks the first time in the company’s history that it has added new attractions after only one year of operation.
Hawaiian Falls also invested $3 million in its Mansfield park, adding the Cliff Hanger, a three-person tube slide with a 40-foot drop; and the Hawaiian Halfpipe, a two-person tube slide which sends riders down a huge drop, then catapults them up three-stories, then backwards for a spectacular finish. The park also added a new 10,000 square foot Splashwater Reef water playground for younger children.
The Colony park added the Whirlwind 360, a new body slide with a twist. Two riders enter separate launchers at the top of a 60-foot tower. The floor drops and both riders are launched simultaneously, travelling opposite arcs around a large bowl at up to 40 mph. After several revolutions, they come to a gradual stop and climb out on a staircase in the middle of the bowl.
The new Hawaiian Falls Waco features Central Texas’ only football field-sized wavepool and an 800-foot-long lazy river that winds through tall trees. Tempest Towers is a six-story slide complex with four slides. The Pineapple Express is a six-story mat racer slide where riders are launched from winding, enclosed tubes onto six divided lanes and then race downhill. Keiki Kove is a zero-depth entry children’s area where parents can interact with their infants, toddlers and young children. There’s also Splashwater Reef with a floating obstacle course and several water basketball goals.
Daily admission prices are $25.99 for anyone over 18 years of age; $19.99 seniors (55 years and older).
