Former Bishop Dunne QB takes team to championship in Ft. Lauderdale

James Gassaway Mitchell , a native of Dallas, Texas and a former Bishop Dunne High School starting quarterback in 2003 is now the starting quarterback again in 2012 for the Ft. Lauderdale Barracudas in the Stars Professional Football Spring League.

Mitchell still carries No. 9, the number his fans remember him by.  The  6'1", 225-pound quarterback is now ready to notch another win as he leads his team in the championship game scheduled for July 28 against the Daytona Beach Racers in Ft. Lauderdale.

NFL scouts are said to be present at this game and it will televised, which all adds up to an exciting event for Mitchell and his family.

Mitchell has two sons cheering him along the way: Jalen Mitchell, 5, and  Jihren Mitchell, 4. He also has his mother, Dona Mitchell, and his  two sisters, Johnique and Joslyn Mitchell,  as well as his father, James Mitchell, Sr., and his grandfather, Luther Mitchell, on his side, as well as a host of other family members.
