Strongly advise that newly adopted pet be vaccinated & bathed immediately after adoption.
Dogs, cats, puppies, & kittens are brought in on a daily basis to the Shelter. Please consider adopting a cat or large dog-they are usually already potty trained & sterilized. Adult cats are calmer, great alarm clocks, mousers, really good lap & foot warmers, & can even remember their names, large dogs are great guard dogs, loyal friends, & will stand by your side & love you know no matter what. The ugliest mutt is the best dog you will ever have.

#449 -6/19/12 - Spike- One of two Tiger Tabby Main Coon Brown/white male kittens, large when fully grown, very playful & love scratching post w/attached bob,
#448 –6/19/12 - Nala- One of 5 kittens surrendered, Main Coon origins, large when fully grown, she is a little scared but is fine when you hold her closely to your chest.
#452-6/19/12-Peach- One of 5 kittens surrendered, possible Main Coon mix, she prefers to cuddle with people, not play.
#497-7/1/12-Frankie-Gray Tabby Tiger Striped with liquid and dreamy eyes, so sweet and well behaved for a kitten, will be a big boy when grown.
1. #466-468 –6/22/12 - Surprise & kittens ––Petite black bob & curly tail mama cat, six months, one black kitten bob & curly tail, one black & white kitten, mother very affectionate & had three long legs, Manx origins.
2. #472 – 6/24/12 – Oreo- black/white long-haired male, very, very scared but lets us pick him up & pet him with no problem, trap.
3. #479 – 6/25/12 – Heather - gray tabby female with some peach coloring, stray, very sociable & affectionate, not scared at all, to 45 Graham.
4. # 514 - 7/10/12 - Mr. Lonely – Adult Neutered Orange Tabby Male cat that is totally confused as to why he is here. Owner said he had urinary illness. This is easily remedied with vet care & fairly low cost medication. His big green eyes just look at you and say, “Why?” He is very sweet, affectionate, sociable, and doesn’t pay any attention to the dogs barking. Owner surrender.
Dogs & Pups
1. 468 –Jerry- Brindle Boxer/Chi/Poodle pup male, 3 months old. But his happy puppiness comes out when he gets to play in the yard. Has slightly longer muzzle than Kermit. Came from same place Kermit came from. Owner surrender. 6/22/12
2. 7/7/12 – 4 medium small to small pups found on side of the road near Dodd City, many different colors and app. 2-3 months old. These babies were left on the side of the hwy in the rain. They all had parasites that are being treated and are otherwise healthy and playful. Will need to be treated for another 2 weeks for parasites. Bernard, Bubba, Brinna, and (Pure Black pup)Binkie (not pictured.
3. # 7/7/12 – 3 male pups, Cream Australian Shepherd & Bull Terrier, cream, white, tan, 9 weeks old, owner surrender. Very loving, curious, & copies other dog’s social behavior with us. Smart little ones. Smarty, Marty, Nubby (Has half tail)
4. #516-7/13/12-Oldman-Older adult Chihuahua, Orange with black shading on back. Found at 302 Meadow Lane, Bonham. Looking for his owner or someone to love him and take him home away from the scary shelter. Stray.
5. #503-7/5/120 Gent-German Shepherd colors, Hound (looks like a Greyhound) mix male young adult that has a deep bell tone to his bark, is very easygoing dog, stray, Bonham PD. Such a gentlemen when walking on the leash, loves his friend Timmy below.
6. #502- 7/5/12- Timmy-Black/Tan silky haired Young male. In the spotlight on channel 12 news Thursday. Young beautiful, glossy, and affectionate male dog that looks a lot like a Gordon Setter and wants you to hold it while he licks you. Stray, Bonham PD.
7. Lady -Found out in the county, female older dog that is the sweetest, calmest, and most delicate medium small dog. She has loads of love to give if her owner isn’t looking for her. Brindle w/white feet, chest, graywhite on muzzle.

Cat -Angel/Squirrel-App. 1 yr old Silver Female Long-haired-She is inquisitive, super playful, & independent. She is just learning to be friends with my cats, my small dog, but is still st& & offish to my big dog who adores all his kitty brothers & sisters. Spayed, Rabies, Vaccinated. She is also learning that people can cuddle too, not just aggravate her, lol.
Blaze & FattyPatty 2 male Collie mix pups -3 mnths old-Tricolor-soft longhair. Rowdy lil’ fellas, but it’s all in fun.
Nero and Velvet – Two recently neutered adult male long haired black kitties that are enjoying some freedom in the barn world right now. Make some room for new barn kitties. They really like to be petted after they feel confident in their surroundings. Love the canned kitty food.
