Narcotics Arrest - July 11, 600 Block E 2nd St. Arresting Officer Cpl. William Abbott. During a narcotics investigation, a search warrant was executed on a residence. Officers arrived at the residence and informed the homeowners why they were there. Officers began their search in a bedroom belonging to the suspect. During the search, officers located a plastic straw with narcotic residue in plain view. A small black bag was located under the nightstand which contained used syringes and several small clear baggies that appeared to have been used to contain an illegal substance. Another small clear baggy was found containing a small amount of a crystal like substance, which is believed to be methamphetamine. An eye glass holder was found to contain a used syringe. Several used syringes were located throughout the residence. Officers confirmed with the homeowners that no one in the residence is diabetic. The suspect, who was already in custody for Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 <1 gram from the same investigation, was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1< 1 gram (Drug Free Zone) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Theft- July 11, 1500 Poplar St. Reporting Officer Ptl Luke Rattan. A call for service was received in reference to a possible burglary of a habitation. The complainant advised he is responsible for checking in on his mother’s belongings in her home while she is residing in a nursing home. When he arrived to check the residence, he found it was "trashed". Several windows had been broken but appeared to have been broken from the inside. The complainant stated that several items were missing from the home including a washing machine and dryer, hospital bed, dresser, window air conditioner and hot water heater. Officers were advised that family members did have permission to enter the residence but no one had permission to remove any belongings. Investigation continuing.

Burglary of a Building- July 14, 1300 Block W. San Rayburn Dr. Reporting Officer Richard Lundy. A call for service was received in reference to a burglary of a building. Upon officers arrival contact was made with the victim who advised that sometime during the night an unknown subject entered the building and removed money from the cash register. The victim advised there was no damage to the building. Officers observed that there was no forced entry on the front doors and all the overhead doors were still secured. It was apparent that the actor had a key to unlock the door and make entry. Investigation continuing.

Criminal Mischief- July 14, 300 Block W. 7th St. Arresting Officer Cpl. Mike Stephens. A call for service was received in reference to an assault. Upon officers arrival contact was made with the victim who advised officers his girlfriend’s ex-husband had assaulted him. The victim also advised the suspect had broken out the window in his vehicle. Contact was made with the suspect and officers observed blood on his hands and abdomen.  Witnesses advised officers that the suspect and his ex-wife got into a verbal altercation inside the residence. The suspect's ex-wife then left the residence and entered the victim’s truck. The suspect then approached the passenger's side of the truck and struck the passenger's side window with a closed fist causing the window to shatter. A physical altercation between the suspect and the victim then ensued. The suspect was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief >$50 <$500 and Assault (Simple).
