A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bonham ISD was held Monday, July 9, 2012, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Bonham ISD Administration Center, 1005 Chestnut Street, Bonham, Texas 75418.
1. Call to Order
The meeting of the Bonham ISD Board of Trustees was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Board President Lance Davis. Members in attendance were: Lance Davis, Jim Simpson, Monica Kissling, Chad Burnett and Sean Floyd. Members absent: Press Cox and Sonny Cruse, Superintendent
2. Executive Session
The Board entered into executive session at 6:02 p.m.
A. Pursuant to Texas Government Code 551.074, discuss and consider candidates for appointment to fill the vacant board position.
B. Pursuant to Texas Government Code §§ 551.071, 551.074 and 551.129, private consultation with District's attorney regarding legal issues concerning the parent grievance held on June 18, 2012 and the Superintendent search process.
C. Pursuant to Texas Government Code 551.0821, deliberations regarding Board's decision of parent grievance on June 18, 2012.
D. Pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.074, deliberations and evaluations regarding candidates for position of Superintendent.
The Board returned from executive session at 6:58 p.m.
3. Action Item - Consider approval of items listed in Executive Session.
Motion made by Sean Floyd and seconded by Chad Burnett
“In light of state laws concerning expenditure of district funds, I move that the Board withdraw the monetary remedy of funds granted as part of a parent grievance on June 18, 2012, and authorize the Superintendent or designee, with input from the district’s legal counsel, to pursue options for re-allocating the funds raised as a part of the cheerleading activity fundraiser”
No further discussion. Motion carried 5/0.
Motion made by Monica Kissling, and seconded by Jim Simpson “I move that we direct the superintendent or his designee to review the current cheerleading policies and procedures and make any necessary corrections. Also within this motion, we direct the superintendent, to hold accountable, staff that are found to have knowingly broken those same policies and procedures.”
No further discussion. Motion carried 5/0.

Motion was made by Sean Floyd and seconded by Chad Burnett to adjourn at 7:02 p.m.
