Linda’s Backyard Bunch from Tyler, Texas entertained the children this morning with a fun, interactive puppet show. Water was spraying, bubbles were shooting into the air, and there was a LOT of laughing and singing. I hope your kiddos were here to enjoy it all. Next Monday we have Mrs. Maria’s Bilingual Show.
So far we have 171 children signed up for the summer reading program and 26 of those have already collected their prizes with more than a month still left in the program. Those kids have moved on to Reader’s Bingo to earn a ticket to the Ringling Brothers Circus and another visit to the treasure chest. Way to go – keep reading!
Thanks to all those who supported the annual Friends of the Library car show last Saturday. Those beautiful shiny cars and trucks were a real treat to see. The registration included free breakfast at the monthly Friends of the Library breakfast at the Community Center. As I stood back for a few minutes and watched everyone enjoying that wonderful breakfast, visiting with neighbors, and heard the laughter I was reminded what a great community we have in Van Alstyne. Won’t you come to the Community Center to be a part of the group next month for breakfast?
