Sun Valley, Texas -- Family and friends of musician Kent Gooding will host a benefit concert on Sunday, July 15 at Three Brothers Draft House (formerly Country Joe’s) in Sun Valley. The event kicks off at noon and features live music, a silent auction, and hamburger supper, with proceeds going to help the Gooding family with expenses.

Gooding, 33, formerly of Clarksville, was an accomplished and talented performer, singer, and songwriter. He performed across the United States with a number of bands and was highly regarded in the East Texas area for his musical talents. Gooding was known locally as the front man of Post Oak Savannah, and performed on numerous occasions as a backing musician to Cas Haley.

Musicians and artists who knew and played with Gooding are scheduled to perform, including Stone Rosevelt, Pearl Street Riot, Michael O'Neal, Ryan Booth, Shut Down Town, The Triptones, Cas Haley, and members from Gooding’s band, the Billion Dollar Blues Band.

“Our friend and local musician Kent Gooding was a loving father, husband, and a blessing to our community,” Robbie Gunn, organizer of the event and friend of the Gooding family, said. “Kent was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, and now that he is gone, his family needs a helping hand.”
