COMMERCE, Texas – For the first time since 2007 and for the second time in program history, Texas A&M University-Commerce will be featured in a nationally televised game. The Lions' showdown with Midwestern State at Cowboys Stadium on Thursday, September 13 has been selected as the Division II National Football Game of the Week and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

"We are incredibly excited to have this opportunity to showcase A&M-Commerce," said Athletic Director Carlton Cooper. "This is something we have been looking forward to for a long time to be able to push our brand nationally, and having the opportunity to do so as part of the Lone Star Football Festival and Harvey Martin Classic is something that will be a highlight of this athletic department and the university. We are looking forward to our fans, alumni and supporters to come out in their Lion gear and show the nation the Lion pride at A&M-Commerce."

For the second-straight year, A&M-Commerce and Midwestern State will kick off the Lone Star Football Festival at Cowboys Stadium as the game was recently moved from Friday afternoon to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening to help expedite the national television audience. The meeting is one of six games selected to be broadcast as part of the NCAA Division II and CBS Sports regular season football television schedule.

The game against Midwestern State will also provide an excellent opportunity for A&M-Commerce to highlight its annual Harvey Martin Classic, which will once again pit the Lions and Mustangs at the world's preeminent sporting facility. The game recognizes former Lion All-American and Super Bowl MVP Harvey Martin, who was inducted into the Lone Star Conference Hall of Honor in 2010.

Tickets for the 2012 Lone Star Football Festival will go on sale in mid-July and are $20 for adults and $10 for students for the A&M-Commerce-Midwestern State game Thursday night while a three-day pass is $35 for adults and $15 for students. Seating will be general admission with children 1-year and older requiring a ticket. To be admitted with a student ticket, bearer must be between 1 and 18 years old or present valid college ID.

A&M-Commerce's last nationally televised game was a 28-14 defeat at Pittsburg (Kan.) State in the 2007 season opener. While the Lions have had a handful of games televised regionally and on a tape delayed basis, this provides a unique opportunity to allow Lion football fans to watch the game live no matter where they live across the country.
