Friday, June 8, the PRIDE Prevention Center and the Bonham Housing Authority collaborated on a Drug Free Kick-Off for the summer programs. Approximately 125 adults and children gathered at the TEAM center for hotdogs, popcorn, snow cones and other treats. Participants competed with hula hoops, jump ropes and other fun activities.
Every child received a trophy and all adults and children received PRIDE T-shirts.
The PRIDE Prevention Center will offer programs every Wednesday to children at the Housing Authority. These programs will address the issues of alcohol, drug and tobacco use. We will be sponsoring a poster contest and hope to put pictures of the winning posters and contestants in the paper.
